Stuck between my shadow and me

Jamie Lidell. "Multiply." Multiply, Warp Records, 2005.

Another gloomy morning here in LA and this song came on the radio on my way to work to brighten the day.

(Shoutout to the guys over at KCRW's Morning Becomes Eclectic -- you can check out Lidell's performance on their radio show from back in the day below).

I had a chance to see Lidell perform live at the Cabaret Juste pour rire when I lived in Montréal back in 2010 (also found a video from that show, check it out below). So much energy and talent. And fun.

Okay, one last video (I promise) of "Multiply" featuring Feist, Mocky, and legendary music professor Chilly Gonzales, teaching music theory to his students and friends in "Master Class."

You and I, there's air in between

Maggie Rogers. "Alaska." Now That The Light Is Fading, Debay Sounds LLC under exclusive license to Capitol Records, 2017.

Love everything about this track and can't wait to see what this young singer-songwriter puts out in her years ahead.

Such a trip comparing this recent interview between Rogers and Pharrell with the video (below) where he first heard the track during his masterclass at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music and shared his feedback with the budding artist. Gives me chills.
