Kim's Guitar Pick: Odette Mattha

"Kim's Guitar Pick." Odette Mattha, MONTRÉAL, QC, Canada, 17 October 2016.

"I never thought I'd get to see The Breeders live and it blew my eternally teen mind."

What can I say about Odette? Supremely talented. A ray of sunshine. Pure, beaming, love.

With a charming accent betraying her origins from a land down unda', I first fell under Odette's spell in Vancouver over a decade ago. I have been so fortunate to call her my friend as she's traversed the world, sprinkling her artistic fairy dust here and there with stints in Toronto, Los Angeles, and La Belle Province, where she's now based out of Montréal.

Check out her incredible production design reel below to see some of the amazing art that has come from her wild and beautiful mind.

One of my favourite pieces Odette has had a hand in creating is The Young Astronauts' "Heroes" music video featuring Janelle Monae. Odette brought her fierce art direction and costume design chops to the production -- you can see her concept art and stills here and watch the music video below.
